ESG & Sustainability

Creating a more sustainable world for healthier, happier people and pets

Our sustainability commitments

At H&H, sustainability is intrinsically linked with our purpose: helping people and their pets live healthier and happier lives.

We are committed to working towards reducing our footprint on the planet and making a positive impact on society, through promoting the story of good health.

Our sustainability impact areas are an integral part of everything we do, and all of our H&H Group team members know they have a role to play in this important journey. Each impact area – Advancing the Story of Good Health, Reducing our Footprint on the Planet, Honouring Human Rights and Fairness, Supporting Good Governance – covers a critical area where we believe our actions can make a tangible difference in the world.

Our sustainability journey is built on honesty, ambition and continuous improvement. We set targets, measure our progress rigorously, and hold ourselves accountable: celebrating wins and addressing gaps with equal transparency.

Our Sustainability Impact Areas

Our sustainability strategy is anchored in globally recognised frameworks: the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact (UNGC). From these foundations, we have defined four impact areas that reflect where H&H can make the most meaningful difference:

We advocate and educate to share the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, spread wellness, and team up with like-minded partners.

We empower individuals worldwide with improved health, wellbeing, and a shared commitment to a healthy lifestyle through our products, advocacy, education, and partnerships.

We create products that contribute to the health and wellbeing of consumers worldwide.

We build a healthier and happier world, by cooperating with partners and suppliers who share our values regarding people and sustainability.

We use resources efficiently and act on climate change to preserve our environment for future generations.

We aim to achieve economic growth while engaging in sustainable procurement practices and protecting the ecosystems on which we rely
for raw ingredients.

We provide consumers with information through standards and labels to ensure traceability and transparency.

We continuously strive to use resources more efficiently, be mindful of our carbon footprint, and make conscious decisions to reduce our emissions.

We protect human rights as the foundation of health and happiness.

We will work to ensure that individuals touched by our business are granted the basic rights and fundamental freedoms to which all humans are entitled.

We will respect and enhance human life in our workplaces.

We give back to people in the communities in which we operate to promote healthy living and wellbeing for all ages through the pillars of Nutrition, Movement, and Mind.

We will put in place formal and informal structures to reduce inequalities and eliminate discrimination.

We positively influence environmental, social and economic development through our governance practices, creating long-term value for our stakeholders.

We make decisions taking all stakeholders into account, ultimately serving our purpose to make people healthier and happier.

We act with strong principles and put in place structures, processes and monitoring systems that work towards a sustainable future.

We monitor and mitigate risks and capture opportunities that support our mission.

We transparently share information relating to company performance.

Sustainability as a driver for efficiencies and innovation

Our Cost-Out, Sustainability-In (COSI) approach

Our COSI programme (Cost-Out, Sustainability-In), introduced in 2022, is H&H's own approach to combining cost efficiencies with sustainability improvements across our formulations, products and packaging. By eliminating non-essential ingredients, lightweighting packaging and improving recyclability, COSI reduces our environmental impact while delivering better value to consumers and greater efficiency across our operations.

Responsible Supply Chain sourcing

H&H Group is deeply committed to responsible sourcing and sustainability across its entire value chain, which primarily consists of contract manufacturers. We have implemented a comprehensive framework to ensure that all suppliers in our network adhere to our high standards.

At the core of our sourcing practices is our mandatory Supplier Code of Conduct that every supplier must sign, establishing clear, non-negotiable standards for environmental responsibility, fair labour and ethical conduct.

To further strengthen our sustainability efforts, we developed the Group's Raw Material Sourcing Policy in 2019. This Policy serves as a strategic roadmap, identifying the sustainability hotspots present within our supply chain for different types of ingredients used in our products. By proactively addressing these hotspots, we aim to mitigate environmental, social, and animal welfare risks associated with our raw materials.

Additionally, we have implemented the H&H Sustainability Suppliers Assessment, a robust evaluation process tailored to the specific material topics relevant to the industries we operate in. Through this assessment, we diligently evaluate our direct suppliers, identifying those with higher sustainability risks. We then work collaboratively with these suppliers to improve their sustainability performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and responsible business practices.

We firmly believe in the power of transparency, fairness, and respect for all individuals impacted by our business operations. By upholding these principles, we strive to create a positive and sustainable impact throughout our value chain.

Our Sustainability Associations

We engage with various associations and hold memberships where we see shared value within certain topics, require certification, or see opportunities for collaboration – whether it be in science, innovation, operations or broader advocacy.

We do this with an awareness of our responsibility as a multinational company that has the ability to enhance the social and environmental climate in which we operate.

Our Sustainability Reports

Each year, we publish our Sustainability Report to provide transparent disclosure of our ESG strategy, material topics, and performance across environmental, social, and governance dimensions. Our reporting reflects our commitment to accountability: tracking progress against our targets, disclosing risks and opportunities, and demonstrating how sustainability is embedded into the way we create long-term value for our stakeholders.
